Take extra care if you are

Pregnant or breastfeeding69 of our 83 ingredient entries list pregnancy or breastfeeding as a reason to avoid them or ask first, most often because there is no safety data. Ask a midwife or doctor before using any remedy.
Having surgerySix entries carry a before-surgery warning: ashwagandha, feverfew, ginkgo, lavender, passionflower and St John's wort. Where a source gives timing it varies, from 3 to 4 days for ginkgo (EU regulator) to at least 2 weeks for feverfew (NCCIH), so tell your surgical team about everything you take.
Giving remedies to childrenMany entries set age limits: senna is contraindicated under 12, willow bark under 18 (Reye's syndrome risk), and honey is not for babies under 12 months (infant botulism). Most herbs have little or no paediatric data, so check with a pharmacist first.
Over 65 or on several medicationsAge is not the risk, the number of medicines is. 38 of our 83 entries have at least one flagged interaction (83 in all, 13 rated Avoid), and blood thinners come up most, in 18 entries. Run your full list through the checker above and show the result to your pharmacist.
